One of the most fascinating elements of Diamond Dynasty remains the semi-regular roster updates.
What Are Roster Updates in MLB The Show Diamond Dynasty

These attribute alterations are based off of players' actual performances in Major League Baseball. Players performing well can be upgraded, seeing their Live Series cards raise in overall as their individual attributes increase relative to performance. On the flip side, struggling players can watch their OVR plummet as their attributes tank in the middle of extended slumps.
This dynamic creates a fluid movement within the Live Series card pool. MLB team Live Series collection costs can fluctuate due to player upgrades/downgrades, both potentially increasing and decreasing in cost. This itself creates an entire section of the market centered around roster update predictions.
When Is MLB The Show 26's Next Roster Update?
The very first attribute update in Diamond Dynasty is next week on Friday, May 8.
Transactional updates happen more frequently, ensuring accurate representation of Major League teams. These larger attribute updates occur every 3-5 weeks throughout the season.
Why Do Roster Updates Matter In MLB The Show

Attribute updates can have a significant effect on the marketplace in Diamond Dynasty. Cards being upgraded and/or downgraded can result in a change to quick-sell value, which is the most common way to earn Stubs by flipping on the market.

This can also greatly affect the cost of a team's live series collection. Keep an eye on 90+ overall Live Series cards especially, as these cards will suffer a sharp decline in cost if they are downgraded below 90+. In the same vain, players performing well who get upgraded to 90+ become pulled less often, therefore typically increasing their respective cost.

Using Cal Raleigh as an example, he got off to a bit of a slow start but started hitting closer to expectation recently. Cross-referencing with Baseball Reference, we see that Raleigh is currently sporting a 90 OPS+ which means he's roughly 10% worse than league average right now.
I pulled Raleigh very early in the year, and loved using him all the way up to Parallel 4. However, as he struggled in real life, I decided to sell high when he was close to 80,000 Stubs in hopes that I could buy back cheaper after the first roster update.
One more week to see if this paid off, or if his monster season last year keeps him in the 90+ OVR club a little longer.
