August 14 Roster Update: Six New Diamonds and a Market Shake-Up
The August 14, 2026 MLB The Show 26 roster update is here, and it's a big one. SDS delivered a full attribute pass with 751 card rating changes—266 upgrades, 252 downgrades—plus 55 position changes and 15 newly added cards. Six players crossed into Diamond territory, eight jumped to Gold, and the quick-sell floors have reset across the board. If you've been tracking your investments on ShowZone's free Roster Update Predictor, today is payday for some and a reckoning for others.
The New Diamonds: Rafaela Leads the Way
Ceddanne Rafaela (Red Sox) headlines the Diamond club with a jump from 84 to 87 overall, gaining +6 Contact R, +8 Power R, and a massive +10 Clutch. That's a three-point leap in a single update, and the market will reflect it—Gold-to-Diamond upgrades reset the price floor and typically spike demand as collectors scramble to complete team sets and Rafaela's speed/defense profile slots into outfield lineups.
Drew Rasmussen (Rays, 84→86) joins him with elite K/9 boosts against both sides of the plate (+3 vs R, +4 vs L) and a +9 Pitching Clutch. Dillon Dingler (Tigers, 84→86) gets the Diamond bump with +20 Vision—a game-changer for contact hitting—while Fernando Tatis Jr. (Padres, 84→85) and Matt Olson (Braves, 83→85) both cross the threshold with modest attribute tweaks. Bryce Miller (Mariners) takes the biggest overall jump into Diamond (81→85) despite slight K/9 and Control dips, likely reflecting real-world dominance that outweighs the granular stat adjustments.
Eight Silver-to-Gold Crossings
The Gold tier welcomed eight fresh faces. Jackson Merrill (Padres, 78→82) is the standout, gaining +12 Contact L, +8 Power R, and +7 Clutch—expect his price to jump as budget squads chase a four-point upgrade. Brandon Nimmo (Rangers, 78→81) flipped his splits with +16 Contact L and +9 Clutch, while Sean Burke (White Sox, 78→81) and Grant Taylor (White Sox, 78→80) give the South Siders two new Gold relievers.
Notable Downgrades and Market Crashes
On the flip side, Jorge Polanco (Mets) and Kazuma Okamoto (Blue Jays) both fell from Silver to Bronze (78→73), dropping their quick-sell value and cratering their market prices. Javier Assad (Cubs, 75→70) and Erick Fedde (White Sox, 70→64) also crossed down a tier, making them sell-now cards if you're still holding.
