MLB The Show Egg Hunt Program Guide: Missions, Hidden Eggs, and Rewards

Corey/Oct 6, 2026/14 min read/Gameplay

Egg Hunt is Diamond Dynasty's Easter program, and it comes back every spring. You solve riddle-style Mystery Missions, track down colored eggs hidden across different game modes, and earn program stars toward a reward path of Egg Hunt Series cards. This guide covers how the program works, every solution and reward from the MLB The Show 26 edition, what carried over from MLB The Show 25, and what to expect next year.

We refresh this page each season. When a new Egg Hunt drops, the current-year section gets updated first.

What Is the Egg Hunt Program?

Egg Hunt is a limited-time featured program built around Easter. It launched on Good Friday in both MLB The Show 25 (April 18, 2025) and MLB The Show 26 (April 3, 2026), alongside a wave of Egg Hunt Series content across Diamond Dynasty.

The structure has stayed consistent:

  • A 100-star reward path. Every 10 stars unlocks something, with Egg Hunt Series player cards at the key milestones and the best card at 100 stars.
  • Mystery Missions. Each mission has a pun or riddle for a title. The title is the hint, and the requirement is usually "do X with a specific player."
  • Seven colored eggs. Purple, Pink, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Red and Green. Each one is earned in a different place: Moments, Conquest, Diamond Quest or online play.
  • Moments. A short set of Egg Hunt Moments that pay stars and unlock one of the eggs.

The key thing to understand: there are more stars available than you need. You can skip the parts you don't like, usually either the online eggs or some of the offline grind, and still finish the program.

You can see every Egg Hunt card ever released, ranked by Meta Overall, on our Egg Hunt card series page. The series has appeared in MLB The Show 24, 25 and 26.

MLB The Show 26 Mystery Mission Solutions

There are 10 Mystery Missions, each worth 5 stars. Most can be finished in a single game.

MissionSolution
Wait a Third...Win 1 game with 83 OVR Gold Clay Holmes from the Yankees Team Affinity program
Customizable Mini Seasons LengthRecord 500 PXP with players wearing #7 or #28
Conq MysterymaxxingRecord 1 extra-base hit with Troy Tulowitzki in Conquest (the Gold version from the Starter Program)
I'm BlueWin 1 game with Kerry Wood (available from the Common Courtesy program)
Whoops, He's Not Supposed to Be TherePitch 1 inning with Live Series AJ Puk. He shows up in Battle Royale drafts, and offline works too
KYLE TESTHit a home run with Kyle Schwarber in Diamond Quest
BackRecord 1 extra-base hit with Nolan Arenado
Back-to-BackRecord 1 extra-base hit with Nolan Gorman
Back-to-Back-to-BackRecord 1 extra-base hit with Juan Yepez
Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-BackRecord 1 extra-base hit with Dylan Carlson

The four "Back" missions all share the clue 7/2/2022. Put all four players in one lineup and you can clear them in a single game.

The PXP mission for #7 and #28 is the only real grind. Use the Mission Optimizer to find which cards in your inventory wear those numbers.

MLB The Show 26 Egg Locations

Each egg is its own collection in the program. Five are standard and two (Red and Green) are bonus eggs that need online play.

EggHow to earn itStars
OrangeComplete all 4 Egg Hunt Program Moments10
BlueEgg Hunt Conquest map10
YellowEgg Hunt Conquest map10
PinkEgg Hunt Diamond Quest map10
PurpleEgg Hunt Diamond Quest map10
Red (bonus)Steal 3 bases in multiplayer modes10
Green (bonus)Hit 10 doubles in multiplayer modes10

The practical takeaway is the same either way: the offline eggs alone get you most of the way, and the two online eggs let you skip offline grinding if you'd rather play Events.

Conquest

The Egg Hunt Conquest map is small. You can finish it in about 20 to 30 minutes. Rush the strongholds instead of filling every hex, and sim everything except the stronghold games. See our Conquest page for the full map and hidden reward locations.

Diamond Quest

The Egg Hunt Diamond Quest map has 20 spring-themed Moments, Showdowns, Stadium Challenges and a Zone Sweeper run. Most Moments ask for hits, extra-base hits or strikeouts with specific players. If a home run Moment is giving you trouble, switch to Directional Hitting and push up to raise your fly ball odds. Map details are on our Diamond Quest page.

Moments

There are 4 program Moments worth 10 stars combined: Tyler Rogers (2), Phil Rizzuto (3), Troy Tulowitzki (2) and Jackson Merrill (3). Finishing all four also unlocks the Orange Egg, so do these first.

Rogers, Rizzuto and Varitek also count as Egg Hunt Series cards for the Swinging into Spring Event program, which ran alongside it as a PXP grind. That event's rewards included 89 OVR Colson Montgomery, a Candy Basket Deluxe pack and a Chocolate Bunny Choice pack. The event is separate from the Egg Hunt Program and not required to finish it. Details are on the Swinging into Spring program page.

MLB The Show 26 Egg Hunt Packs

MLB The Show 26 introduced exclusive Egg Hunt packs: each choice pack holds cards you can only pull from that pack.

PackRare tier (90 OVR)Base tier (88 OVR)
Chocolate Eggs ChoiceRafael Devers (SF), Cam Schlittler (NYY), James Wood (WSH)Masyn Winn (STL), Shawn Armstrong (CLE), Torii Hunter (LAA)
Chocolate Bunny ChoiceAustin Riley (ATL), Bryan Reynolds (PIT), Ray Durham (CWS)Jim Kaat (MIN), Kyle Stowers (MIA), Mike Napoli (TEX)

The Candy Basket Deluxe pack costs 10,000 Stubs, gives one random card from both choice packs' pools, and can be bought an unlimited number of times. Check the pack pages for live expected value before you buy. At the time of writing, every Egg Hunt pack's EV was well below its Stubs price.

The 92 OVR Egg Hunt Mookie Betts came from Chase Pack 4, which released the same week but is separate from the Egg Hunt Program.

Fastest Way to Complete the Egg Hunt

This order worked in MLB The Show 26 and the same logic applied in 25:

  1. Play the Moments first. They're quick, pay stars, and unlock the Orange Egg.
  2. Knock out the one-game Mystery Missions. Build one lineup with Arenado, Gorman, Yepez and Carlson for the four "Back" missions, and fold in Schwarber, Wood, Holmes or Puk where you can.
  3. Run the Conquest map. About 20 to 30 minutes for two eggs.
  4. Clear the Diamond Quest map for the last two offline eggs.
  5. Pick up the online eggs only if you need them. Events are shorter and less sweaty than Ranked for doubles and stolen bases.
  6. Save the PXP mission for last. Use #7 and #28 cards while you play everything else and it fills on its own.

Use the Mission Optimizer to build a lineup that covers missions across several programs at once.

MLB The Show 25 Egg Hunt Recap

The MLB The Show 25 version launched April 18, 2025 and set up the format 26 built on.

StarsReward
1086 OVR Egg Hunt Joe Boyle (SP, TB)
3087 OVR Egg Hunt Logan O'Hoppe (C, LAA)
5088 OVR Egg Hunt Riley Greene (LF, DET)
10089 OVR Egg Hunt Jazz Chisholm Jr. (2B, NYY)

The full path also paid 35,000 XP, 8 Show Packs and 1 Deluxe Egg Hunt Pack.

How 25 worked:

  • 9 Moments for 10 stars. Completing all of them unlocked the Purple Egg.
  • 8 Mystery Missions at 5 stars each. For example, "Wait A Second" was a win with Silver Randy Johnson, "Swordfish" was a strikeout with Mike Trout, and "Trivia Night" was a quality start with Vida Blue.
  • 7 egg vouchers, but you only needed 5 to turn in for a single 50-star collection. Green and Blue came from Diamond Quest, Red and Yellow from the Bunny Ears Conquest map, Purple from Moments, and Pink (25 strikeouts) and Orange (25 total bases) from online modes.

The wider drop included the Bunny Ears Conquest map (87 OVR Anthony Volpe), a Diamond Quest map with Rickey Henderson and Lucas Erceg, and an Egg Hunt collection that rewarded Pete Crow-Armstrong at 7 cards, Ryan McMahon at 18 and Jacob deGrom at 28. Our MLB The Show 25 Egg Hunt news breakdown has the full rundown.

What changed from 25 to 26

  • Same seven egg colors, but each egg became its own collection instead of "turn in any 5 of 7."
  • The online eggs became bonus eggs. In 25, two of the five you turned in could be online eggs. In 26, Red and Green sat on top of five offline eggs.
  • Fewer Moments (4 instead of 9), more Mystery Missions (10 instead of 8).
  • Exclusive choice packs debuted in 26.

What to Expect in MLB The Show 27

Nothing below is confirmed. It's what we expect based on the last two years.

  • Timing. Egg Hunt launched on Good Friday in both 25 and 26. Easter 2027 falls on March 28, so if the pattern holds, look for it around Good Friday, March 26, 2027. That's earlier in the game's life cycle than usual.
  • Format. Expect a 100-star path, riddle-style Mystery Missions, seven colored eggs spread across Moments, Conquest, Diamond Quest and online play, and an Egg Hunt card at 100 stars.
  • Mission style. Both years used clues tied to specific players, jersey numbers and baseball history. Cards from Team Affinity, the Starter Program and older programs showed up in solutions, so don't throw out old Gold and Silver cards.
  • Packs and a side event. Both years had Egg Hunt Series packs and an event or collection that used Egg Hunt cards.

We'll post the full MLB The Show 27 solutions here as soon as the program goes live.

Frequently Asked Questions

Earn 100 program stars from Moments, Mystery Missions and egg collections. The quickest route is the 4 Moments, the one-game Mystery Missions, then the Conquest and Diamond Quest maps for the offline eggs.

Orange comes from completing all program Moments, Blue and Yellow from the Egg Hunt Conquest map, Pink and Purple from the Egg Hunt Diamond Quest map, and the bonus Red (3 stolen bases) and Green (10 doubles) eggs from multiplayer modes.

No. In MLB The Show 26 the online Red and Green eggs were bonus eggs, so you could finish entirely offline. In MLB The Show 25 you needed only 5 of 7 eggs, so you could skip the two online eggs.

90 OVR Egg Hunt Jackson Merrill (CF, SD) at 100 stars, plus 5,000 XP. The highest-rated Egg Hunt card that year was 92 OVR Mookie Betts, but he came from Chase Pack 4, not the program.

It hasn't been announced. The last two Egg Hunts launched on Good Friday, which is March 26 in 2027.
