MLB The Show 26: All 2026 Finest Content Breakdown and Details

Zad

The World Series has ended with the Milwaukee Brewers claiming the 2026 championship. As the Postseason content has wrapped up, the final boss in the way of major content is Finest.

Usually the final major content update, Finest marks the transition from 2026's game cycle to the lull of winter. Since we should be getting a ton of juiced up versions of our favorite players, there's a ton of cards to come.

SDS has broken up 2026 Finest into three separate programs, so we'll make this the one-stop page for all Finest content. Bookmark and check back with each new update to see what's new!

Finest is all about the cards, so there's a ton of players in the program and even more to come.

You'll be getting to know the Finest cards very well while you grind your way to program progress. There's only five Moments, so if you have Conquest maps or Mini Seasons still waiting to be started - no time is better than now to begin.

I can't see a new Matt Olson and not highlight it. Matty O gets thunderous 125 Power against both sides, which already makes him elite in my book. The swing is otherworldly and regardless of attributes, I feel like Olson gets to everything. If you make solid contact, he's hitting it absurdly hard somewhere and plenty of those balls will land in the seats.

The new #3 Meta Overall starting pitcher is New York Yankees' hurler Cam Schlittler. A dominant regular season brings the power-righty to Finest Program 1 as one of the best cards in the program. Schlittler will hit 100 with ease and the secondary sinker has Outlier, which can cause some problems at higher levels. On All-Star, this card as all the makings of a top-line starter in Ranked.

The imminent 2026 National League Most Valuable Player, Pete Crow-Armstrong is the blueprint for any Diamond Dynasty player.

Massive Clutch with 125 Power against RHP, with the rest of the offensive attributes landing in a fine spot before Diamond Parallel Mods come into play. Elite speed, base stealing, and defense makes this the very best PCA we've gotten this year.

2026 Finest Program 2

The second Finest program has dropped with many more fun names getting their Finest flowers.

Miami's Otto Lopez gets a Finest variant with absurd potential once you add Parallel Mods. Max ratings on all offensive attributes except Power gives Lopez crazy upside with Power Mods.

Lopez is also a Diamond fielder with 88/89 Speed/Stealing, which makes going all-in on Diamond Power very enticing.

Adrian Morejon has become one of my favorite lefty relievers. He has my preferred pitch mix, though he only has Outlier on the primary sinker. Still, the 4-seamer is going to sit upper-90's and hit 100 easily.

I'm happily making room in my bullpen, as Morejon's Mural card was one of my most reliable relievers for a long time.

L.A. Dodger's starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto is the final reward in the second drop.

A major part of Yamamoto's game is his elite stuff. His "weakest" pitch in terms of Break comes in at 92, meaning everything he throws has meaningful movement. However, the lack of major speed differentials will demand execution with tunneling and how you attack each hitter.

2026 Finest Choice Pack 1

Early in the content cycle, SDS themselves pointed out that players can stash Deluxe, Premier, and Ultra Choice Packs to gain access to all new packs as they release. This was a great way to stay current on content, and became a solid way to make collection progress through each new set.

Disappointingly, that trend does not include Finest. SDS instead opted to make these tier-based Choice Packs, with rare and base being the two tiers you can pull. If you have Ultra Choice Packs saved up, apparently you will be able to find the 2026 Finest Choice Pack 1 there.

It's a bit perplexing that of all content, Finest did not follow the same format. The staleness that sets in over the course of the year was offset by the choice packs, allowing easier buy-in to the new sets and collections. At a time when the player base has dwindled, making Finest grindier than everything else this year just feels odd.

The players featured in Finest Choice Pack 1 are:

If anyone challenged PCA for NL MVP it's probably Shohei Ohtani. I still think it's an easy win for PCA, but Ohtani is still a unicorn. I personally don't think this is a 130k Stub card that I would shell out to acquire, but he's here for the taking for those interested.

The Chicago White Sox had a hell of a year, which means Finest should hopefully cook up some fun cards. A big disappointment this year was losing Frank Thomas, who is the White Sox legend to many, but Finest Miguel Vargas ain't half bad.

Once in contention for most popular player in MLB, Fernando Tatis Jr. still possesses all of the elite tools that catapulted him into superstardom. This variant of Tatis Jr. is weaker against RHP, but kills lefties with diamond defense in RF and elite speed and arm strength. You even get 2B eligibility on this version of Tatis.

2026 Finest Choice Pack 2

The players featured in Finest Choice Pack 2 are:

Rare tier

Base tier

Mason Miller has humbled me online more than I'd care to admit. Even when you know what's coming, it's pretty damn hard to hit.

Primary slider that will embarrass you, outlier 4-seamer to finish you off. Just about maxed out attributes where you want them, and Miller unsurprisingly becomes the new #1 Meta Overall closing pitcher.

Jacob Latz gets a highlight here as I absolutely loved his All-Star card. He won't be as sexy as a Mason Miller, but he's an effective lefty that can dominate both righties and lefties, and comes at a big discount relative to the rare tier players.

The value here is still subpar.

It's disappointing that Finest was turned into a money-gauge, and the cards contained in the packs don't really warrant the exorbitant cost. The decision to strangle the excitement of Finest is one of the strangest of the year.

How To Exchange 2026 Finest Players in MLB The Show 26

Finest Exchange Banner.webp

Another twist in the Finest drop is the addition of four new exchanges to earn the following players:

This one doesn't make too much sense to me. The cost of acquisition is exchanging 5-different 85 OVR+ Live Series cards. Even if you have plenty of duplicates, this feels like a half-baked usage of the exchange tab. The lack of Deluxe and Premier Choice Packs getting access to the Finest Choice Pack 1, as well as what feels like a mostly pointless exchange has resulted in a resounding thud for the initial wave of Finest content.

The approach is definitely different, but it feels disconnected from trying to make the release exciting. It feels like homework on top of homework just to get the best versions of current players, and less like the enjoyable gameplay loop that programs had for most of the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 2026 Finest Program is the final major content drop of the year in Diamond Dynasty. It is split into three separate programs and focuses on high-overall versions of 2026 players, with Program 1 launching alongside a Choice Pack and four new exchanges.

Program 1 is primarily earned through missions and Moments. There are only five Moments, so progress can also be made by playing unfinished Conquest maps or Mini Seasons. Completing the program path awards multiple 99 overall cards, including Pete Crow-Armstrong.

Notable cards include Matt Olson (125 power vs. both sides), Cam Schlittler (currently a top Meta Overall starting pitcher with Outlier on his sinker), and Pete Crow-Armstrong (the likely NL MVP, with elite speed, defense, and 125 power vs. RHP).

The pack lets you choose one 99 overall card from two tiers. Featured players are CJ Abrams, David Bednar, Fernando Tatis Jr., Jhoan Duran, Miguel Vargas, Shohei Ohtani, Sonny Gray, and Walbert Ureña. Unlike earlier content, it is not automatically available in all saved Deluxe, Premier, or Ultra Choice Packs.

Four exchanges are available for Brice Turang, James Wood, Parker Messick, and Yandy Díaz. Each requires exchanging five different 85+ overall Live Series cards. The cards earned from these exchanges are not sellable.

The main complaints are the stricter access to the Choice Pack (compared to previous content cycles) and the exchanges that require burning 85+ Live Series cards. Many feel this makes the drop grindier and less exciting than earlier programs.

Yes. SDS has confirmed three separate Finest programs. This page will be updated as Programs 2 and 3 release with additional cards and content.
