The Rolen & The Reds program launched alongside the big Scott Rolen Collection in MLB The Show 25. Designed to honor the legendary career of Scott Rolen and highlighting the 2010 Cincinnati Reds, this program ultimately rewards a solid SP and a competitive version of Rolen for those of us that can't fork over for the premium Rolen.
Rewards Overview
By completing the program, players can earn the following rewards:
- 90 Overall Johnny Cueto (Contributor Series)
- 87 Overall Scott Rolen (All-Star Series)
- 79 Overall Jim Edmonds (Veteran Series)
- 3 Show Packs
- 20,000 XP
While Rolen is the man of the hour, the 90 overall Cueto is a very intriguing rotation option.
How to Complete the Program
You must earn 50 Program Stars to complete Rolen & The Reds. Here's the breakdown:
1. Play Moments (30 Stars)
There are 6 Moments available, each worth 5 Program Stars.
Completing all six will immediately grant you:- 79 Jim Edmonds
- 87 Scott Rolen
These players are necessary to continue grinding the next missions.
2. Player Parallel Missions (30 Stars total)
After unlocking 87 Rolen:
- Earn 500 PXP with All-Star Scott Rolen (10 Stars)
This will happen naturally by inserting him into your lineup after the Moments are completed.
Team-based missions are next:
- Tally 750 PXP with players from the following teams:
- Phillies (5 Stars)
- Cardinals (5 Stars)
- Reds (5 Stars)
- Blue Jays (5 Stars)
Each 750 PXP mission grants 5 Program Stars. You do not need to finish them all to hit 50 Stars if you’re efficient with Rolen's PXP.
Important:
These team missions can be stacked. If you load your lineup with Phillies, Cardinals, Reds, and Blue Jays players all at once, you'll earn PXP progress across all four missions simultaneously.Completion Tip: Maximize Team Affinity Progress Too
These missions will also help you earn progress in Team Affinity.
By knocking out these missions while building innings and PXP for those teams, you get closer to earning the Jolt Voucher, which is a required piece for unlocking 99 Overall Scott Rolen in the Legends and Flashbacks Collection.

Rolen & The Reds is a short but fun program that gives players access to a usable version of Scott Rolen outside of the premium version. Realistically, some of us may never unlock the 99 overall Scott Rolen. Having the chance to use him in line with the current power curve is a huge win from SDS and not something they typically do.
