What Are Parallel Mods?
Mods are customizable attribute boosts unlocked through the PXP system. Unlike parallel bonuses which add a flat +1 to every stat, mods let you focus upgrades where they matter most — more contact for a leadoff hitter, extra K/9 for your closer, or a speed injection for a base-stealing threat.
Equipping a mod replaces the standard parallel boosts on that card. You can use either parallel boosts or a mod, but not both at the same time. Mods unlock when a card reaches a specific PXP threshold and, for Gold and Diamond tiers, meets additional stat requirements accumulated with that card in Diamond Dynasty games. Only one mod can be equipped per card at a time, but you can swap freely.
How Mods Work
Silver Mods
Unlock at Parallel I (500 PXP). Four options per position with modest boosts and no stat requirements. A quick upgrade while you work toward higher tiers.
Gold Mods
Unlock at Parallel III (3,000 PXP) plus stat milestones like hits, home runs, or strikeouts. Sixteen hitter options and nine pitcher options with meaningful boosts up to +10 in specialized attributes.
Diamond Mods
Unlock at Parallel V (10,000 PXP) with steep stat requirements. The biggest boosts in the game — up to +20 Speed/Steal or +10 K/9. These are endgame upgrades for cards you've invested serious time in.

Common Questions
MLB The Show 26 has 49 total parallel mods across three tiers: 4 Silver mods (Parallel I, no stat requirements), 25 Gold mods (Parallel III, with stat milestones), and 20 Diamond mods (Parallel V with steep stat requirements). The Mod Explorer below lets you filter all 49 by position, tier, and category (Contact / Power / Pitching / Speed / Defense). Hitter and pitcher mods are separate pools.
It depends on the card's strengths and the position you're playing it at. ShowZone's Best Parallel Mods by Position tool analyzes every card against all available mods to find the one that maximizes Meta Overall at each position — different mods are optimal for catchers vs shortstops vs starting pitchers. Visit /parallel-mods/best for the data-driven recommendation per position.
For Diamond Dynasty hitters in MLB The Show 26, the best Diamond mod usually comes down to whether you want raw power (mods boosting Power L/R), high contact (boosting Contact L/R), or speed/defense (boosting Speed, Steal, Fielding). The optimal pick varies by card and position — a power hitter at 1B benefits from a Power Specialist, while a leadoff CF benefits more from Speed/Contact. Use ShowZone's Best Mods by Position tool to see the data-backed recommendation per card.
Pitcher mods in MLB The Show 26 focus on K/9, Stuff, Control, and pitch-specific boosts. Diamond K Specialist (up to +10 K/9) is widely considered the strongest general-use Diamond pitcher mod, but the right pick depends on the pitcher's existing strengths — a high-velocity sinker pitcher gains more from a Sinker boost than from K/9. Check the Mod Explorer below or the Best Mods tool for per-card recommendations.
Parallel mods are customizable attribute boosts that replace the standard parallel bonuses on a card. Mods unlock at specific PXP thresholds: Silver at Parallel I (500 PXP), Gold at Parallel III (3,000 PXP), Diamond at Parallel V (10,000 PXP). Gold and Diamond mods also require accumulated stat milestones (hits, home runs, strikeouts, etc.) earned while playing with that card. Only one mod can be equipped per card at a time, but you can swap freely between mods or back to standard parallel boosts.
ShowZone Pro members can save a parallel mod selection per card, and that choice propagates across the entire site — Player Database, Top 25 rankings, Team Builder, Compare, and everywhere else a card appears will show the modded overall and attributes. Free users can preview mod effects on any individual card but can't persist them. Pro members effectively get a personalized version of the site that reflects how their actual cards are modded.
