Roster Update 7: A Preview of Possible Investments

This article will be slightly different than previous ones. The update period is shorter, and there is a smaller pool of player to pick from. This is combined with the possible fielding update, which we have zero information about. Most of these picks are standout players in their category and should be fine, whatever update it is. Let’s make those stubs!

Hot Hitters : Highlights

These are the 5 highlighted batters for this week’s article. These are highlighted for their exceptional performances, and are the most likely to go up. Keep in mind that I can not see in to the future, and that any player can go cold at any time, for any reason. These are educated picks based of statistical analysis.

Freddie Freeman : Los Angeles Dodgers

Current Overall : 85

Predicted Overall : 86-88

Recommended Buy Now Price : – 3,000

Freddie Freeman has been in incredible form since he left his agent. Coincidence or not, Freeman is putting up ridiculous numbers and should have gotten an upgrade in the last update. With his price still being around Quick Sell Value, Freeman could be an incredible investment if he gets a big bump.

Even though Semien has been very inconsistent as a hitter, he has been improving over the last few weeks and is putting up good numbers since the last Roster Update. Semien is still a very inconsistent hitter, and getting Semien at Quick Sell Value should be your aim.

Amed Rosario : Cleveland Guardians

Amed Rosario has been on my radar for quite a while and has been putting up numbers that landed him in the highlighted spot. Rosario has been a very consistent hitter for the Guardians over the season and should be getting a nice hitting upgrade. However, Rosario is a silver, and silvers and SDS aren’t a good combination at all. They more often than not completely overlook silvers, so don’t expect Rosario to be a guarantee.

Charlie Blackmon : Colorado Rockies

Charlie Blackmon really got hot just before the All – Star Break and has continued performing on a very high level. After the last Roster Update, Blackmon got upgraded to a gold and he has been performing on a level that warrants an upgrade again. Being at Quick Sell Value, Charlie Blackmon could be a great investment.

Starling Marte – New York Mets

One of the most overlooked investments of this Roster Update has to be Starling Marte. Marte has been in great form for the Mets, and has a lot of room of improvement in his hitting attributes. Marte has also been one of the best fielders in his position, which makes him a relatively risk-free investment around his current price.

Performing Pitchers

Now let’s have a look at pitchers who are due an upgrade. Keep in mind that pitchers only need one bad performance to possibly lose their upgrade, so the risk of investing in pitchers is definitely higher than investing in batters. At the time of writing, most pitchers will have one more appearance before the Roster Update, so keep an eye on them. After some feedback, the stats of last 15 days will be used for the pitchers, similar to the batters.

Dylan Cease : Chicago White Sox

Current Overall : 83

Predicted Overall : 84-86

Recommended Buy Price : -1,600

Back-to-back entries for Dylan Cease! One of the most underrated pitchers in the league, Dylan Cease has been putting up incredible numbers over the last two months. Cease really only has one weakness in his game, which is limiting walks.

Emmanuel Clase : Cleveland Guardians

Another back-to-back entry for a pitcher. Emmanuel Clase has been incredible and really shows potential to go diamond this time around. However, Clase does have an incredibly high H/9 stat already, and will need improvement in other areas to get the +1.

Brandon Woodruff : Milwaukee Brewers

Brandon Woodruff has shown his ability since returning from the IL. However, He might only have one outing for this shortened upgrade window, which might mean SDS will be reluctant to give him the diamond upgrade. However, at Quick Sell Value, Woodruff basically holds no risk and could turn out to make you massive profits.

Not only has he shown incredible quality, his considerably low price make him a great investment for people with slightly lower stub counts. I’d expect Mckenzie to get a +2, so I’d advise to sell if his price goes over 900 stubs.

Tyler Anderson must be one of the most overlooked players for the upcoming update. Anderson has had two incredible games back-to-back and has not given up a single run! Anderson will most likely have one more outing before the update, and doesn’t really have the track record to go off, so he could hold slightly more risk. However, at Quick Sell Value, Anderson could be an incredible investment!

Due to the shortened update period (All-Star Break) I’ve decided to not add any Honorable Mentions or High Tier Investments. This shortened update period combined with a possible fielding update, makes predicting more than the standout batters nearly impossible.
