SDS stated in a recent stream that players have been loving Weekend Classic, so they decided to add an extra Classic to the middle of July. That just happens to coincide with the major All-Star Game week content, and is joined by the recently released Multiplayer Program Drop 2 content that also features new card rewards.
Let's take a look!
Weekend Classic Rewards
We've hit 99 overall now in the Weekend Classic Choice Pack, and the two featured players in this Classic are Corbin Burnes and Mike Napoli.
These are legit rewards for a competitive multiplayer event. Mike Napoli is perpetually one of the most popular hitters, and this 99 overall Prime version is absolutely juiced offensively. Because we've hit 99 overall now, that means the Fielding is a bit stronger at 76, even though the Reaction and Blocking are on the "meh" side of things. Napoli also gets Dead Red and Breaking Ball Hitter Quirks, all helping him reach #2 at Catcher according to True Overall and #3 in Meta Overall.
Awards Corbin Burnes has debuted as the #1 SP according to Meta Overall and for good reason. With elite core attributes, Burnes also features one of the most meta-dominating pitch mixes a pitcher can have. While he doesn't have an Outlier 4-Seamer, he does have a primary Cutter that will sit mid-to-upper 90's with exceptional Break and Control. He also has an Outlier Sinker, which works incredibly well with the hard Cutter and also has exceptional Control at 94. The Break isn't as strong, but it's breaking in the opposite direction of all his other pitches and is thrown pretty hard. Slurve, Circle Change, and Slider rounding out the mix gives Burnes three legitimate off-speed pitches with different planes of break.
Put it all together, and Burnes is typically one of the nastiest pitchers in Diamond Dynasty. Incredibly worthy rewards for a competitive mode, and probably a sign to come of the quality we should expect from the remaining Weekend Classics this game cycle.

A pair of Awards series cards featuring two popular legends round out the card rewards in the Multiplayer Program. Both debut in the Top-1o at their respective positions, with Sheffield even having 3B eligibility and rating out pretty well there. As we approach 99 overalls being the regular drops, it's still important to remember that 98 overall cards are often comparable and only lacking in a couple areas to drop them below the 99 overall threshold.
As free cards earned just from grinding multiplayer, these are very solid cards that actually rate out better than many of the 2025 All-Star Game content cards.
Key Notes
- Final reward is not the standard 50-pack Bundle—instead, you’ll earn a premium 2025 Home Run Derby Choice Pack.
- Missions stack well with Ranked, Battle Royale, and Event play, especially when building lineups around 2025 Series hitters and pitchers. If you're still working on the All-Star week programs, you can make a ton of progress across multiple programs right now.
- The content calendar lists a new Legends and Flashback collection on the same date as the 2025 Hall of Fame content. The inductees this year include CC Sabathia, Billy Wagner, Dick Allen, and Dave Parker - all of whom are currently featured in MLB The Show 25. It's a safe bet we'll see cards of most, if not all of these players. The other inductee is the marquee name - Ichiro Suzuki. Ichiro hasn't been in MLB The Show for several years now, but was one of the most popular players when he was active. We've seen huge new reveals for big celebratory content, and this would be a hell of a way to reintroduce Ichiro to Diamond Dynasty.
There's your new Weekend Classic and Multiplayer Program rewards. What are you grinding this weekend? Let us know in the comments!
