Live Content week continued on Tuesday, when SDS hosted their annual live stream of the Developer Tournament in MLB The Show 26.
The tournament featured a ton of gameplay footage, and the game looks pretty good to me. There's always a lot of talk about the visuals, but gameplay looked smooth. More than anything, I think the feel of gameplay will be the main change so I'm excited to get my hands on the game a couple of nights from now.
During the live stream, CBrev showed off the "big stam" to run the gauntlet and take home the championship in the final round. Brev is one of my favorite stories within the MLB The Show Community, as just a couple of years ago I was hanging out in his Twitch chat. Now, our boy is part of the development team at SDS and took home the Dev Tourney title in his debut.
Shout out to the homie!
Notes and Tidbits
- Twitch drop packs will be available at Early Access. All Now & Later packs earned will be available at standard release on March 17.
- Conquest tutorials can now be skipped.
- Starting pitchers can no longer be brought into the middle of a Ranked Co-Op game from the bullpen.
Commentary: This is a very significant change. Co-Op almost exclusively turned into a starting pitcher fest, with both teams bringing starters in out of their respective bullpens. When it's the best option; everyone will do it. This will make bullpen selections not only relevant, but much more impactful.
- Quirks on legends and flashbacks are based on the specific year of the featured card.
- Parallel Milestones are awarded at each Parallel tier, displaying the username of the first person to reach each tier.

Closing Thoughts
One of my first goals each year is completing the Braves collection. The fact that we get Andruw Jones back in the game as a new legend, and he's the Braves collection reward is exciting for me. Starting off the year with an outfield that includes Andruw Jones and Ronald Acuna Jr. sounds like a good time.
There's a handful of new legends, and the Dodgers reward being the infamous 2nd Half Manny Ramirez is fitting. Manny went on an absolute tear after being traded to the Dodgers, and the expensive Los Angeles Dodgers collection needed to deliver. I'd say they nailed it.
Just a few more days until Early Access! More news and reveals will be announced over the next couple of days.
