The New Threads Program is already a hit with fans, but the New Threads Collection adds even more incentive to dive in and scoop up cards from this stylish new series. With three solid rewards available, this collection builds on the momentum—and yes, it stacks beautifully with your progress in the program itself.
Collection Rewards
- Collect 10 New Threads cards: Unlock 88 OVR Alex Bregman

- Collect 20 New Threads cards: Add 88 OVR Aroldis Chapman to your bullpen

- Collect 28 New Threads cards: Score 89 OVR Anthony Santander

These are great depth pieces, particularly if you're building out theme teams or want budget beasts with legit swing mechanics and pitch mixes. Beyond that, this Chapman can easily stick in your bullpen for most if not the entire year.
Pulling New Threads Cards in Packs
For the first time in MLB The Show 25, New Threads cards can be pulled in standard Show packs while they’re available in the Show Shop. That’s a huge shift in how themed sets work. Rather than being locked behind expensive premium packs, New Threads cards are now part of the regular pack rotation—at least while the drop is active.
This approach helps keep the market in check. While players still carry value due to increased power creep, their availability in base packs means prices won’t skyrocket like in past years. It’s a win-win: Stubs retain value, but you’re not paying through the nose for every single card from each set.
How Far the Program Takes You
Referencing our full breakdown of the New Threads Program, there are four New Threads cards unlockable just by progressing:
- 83 Jesus Luzardo
- 84 Michael Conforto
- 85 Jorge Soler
- 86 Gleyber Torres
Additionally, completing the program earns a Deluxe New Threads pack, from which you can choose one more 86 overall card. There’s also a collection mission for owning all 86 OVR cards, which totals seven players. If you manage to collect those and grind out the 100 stars needed, that’s at least 8 New Threads cards, getting you nearly to Bregman for free.
Final Word
With the combination of earnable cards, market flexibility, and theme-aligned packs in standard Show packs, this New Threads drop feels like SDS finally threading the needle (pun intended) on fun and fair content. Keep stacking those cards and grinding—this program-collection synergy is exactly what Diamond Dynasty needed. And it's evidently what we'll be seeing all year.
