The ever popular Moonshot series is returning with a fresh coat of paint. Moonshot 2.0 features a new premium pack, grindable program, and a new collection featuring three rewards.
Program Structure

150-stars to complete
Moments
There are six standard Moments worth 5 stars each tasking you with hitting a Home Run with each featured Moonshot hitter while facing off against the Common-rated Moonshot pitchers.
There's also Extreme variants for each of those Moments, tasking you with hitting a Home Run off the best available version of each Moonshot pitcher on Hall of Fame difficulty. Completing these Moments rewards 10 stars each. That's a potential total of 90 stars just from completing Moments, getting you most of the way to program completion.
Stat Missions:
There are also stat missions worth 5 stars each.
- 150 PXP with each Common pitcher
- 3 HRs with each program hitter
Common Pitcher Pool
You’ll be using Common versions of:
- Clayton Kershaw
- Felix Bautista
- Ubaldo Jimenez
- Rob Dibble
- Aroldis Chapman
- Roger Clemens
Moonshot Hitter Program Rewards
Moonshot Series Missions
Any Moonshot Series cards (including the OG Moonshot set) can be used to tally:
- Home Runs: 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40
- PXP Totals: 1500, 2500, 3500, 5000
All progress stacks, so you’re always making gains while you play.
Moonshot Event Missions
The new Moonshot event includes 45 total stars in stat missions:
- Tally HRs with any hitters
- Tally HRs with Moonshot Series hitters
- Pitch innings with any Moonshot Series pitchers
Using Moonshot Series hitters will double dip here and earn stars much quicker, but having the option to use any players is critical for those that might be new or otherwise didn't unlock any previous Moonshot series cards.

Rare Round:

Moonshot 2.0 features a ton of new cards - all of which are 99 overalls. A healthy mix of Hall of Famers and more modern legends, headlined by Sosa, Henderson, and Joe Morgan.
The Moonshot series is beloved for the juiced up versions of players that usually don't have high Power attributes. For Morgan and Henderson, that's two prominent base-stealers and defensive standouts that get elite Power while sacrificing Fielding. The Speed and Stealing are still there, and in Henderson's case he's still a Gold fielder. The tweak to Fielding this year, making the attribute mean more than ever, provides a fun level of diversity here as we hit peak 99-overall releases. Many players opt for the pure offensive attributes and skilled hitters can certainly do this without worry. For everyone else, choosing cards for offensive prowess that lack in the field can create some very interesting squad decisions.
Collect these cards from Moonshot 2.0 packs to progress in the Moonshot 2.0 Program:
- For 50 stars:
- Ryan Braun
- Brian Dozier
- Preston Wilson
- Barry Larkin
- For 100 stars:
- Joe Morgan
- Rickey Henderson
- Sammy Sosa
If you splurge for both collection tiers, you'll instantly complete the Moonshot 2.0 program without playing a single game or Moment.
Moonshot 2.0 Collection Rewards

At the end of the Moonshot 2.0 rainbow is the new collection featuring Tim Raines, Ozzie Smith, and Hank Aaron. You'll need a total of 60 Moonshot cards to complete the collection and unlock Hammerin' Hank.
Today's massive drop brings 16 new Moonshot cards in the program itself, between the grindable rewards (detailed above) and the packs earned along the way. The Moonshot 2.0 pack brings 12 total cards (also detailed above) which brings the total number of currently available Moonshot series cards to 69 (editor's note: nice).
I find myself more interested in Raines and Ozzie than Hank, even as a Braves fan. Raines and Smith are both switch-hitters that typically see their Speed paired with strong defense and high Contact. The Fielding doesn't take much of a hit on their Moonshot cards featured here, and they retain their elite Speed which makes them absolute studs.
Hammerin' Hank's best cards should almost always feature 125 everything because he's freakin' Hank Aaron so it's great to see that here - but 65 Fielding and 62 Reaction is unplayable at this point in the year. The 1B secondary eligibility certainly feels like a compromise, but I'm still a bit underwhelmed. Or maybe I'm just bitter because there's been some really expensive and unattainable (for me) Braves' cards recently. At least we get 70 Speed, but even that isn't fast enough to offset the bad jumps you'll see with the 62 Reaction.
As of publication, there's a total of 35 non-market Moonshot cards that you can earn without spending any Stubs. That means you'll need to pony up for the other 25.
