It’s a massive day for MLB The Show 25 content, with San Diego Studio rolling out new updates across multiple programs. Whether you're grinding Ranked, playing through Moments, or building your collections, here’s a full breakdown of everything you need to know from today’s content drop.
Weekend Classic: Leaderboards, Rewards, and Choice Pack
Weekend Classic finally debuts after years of hoping for this very mode.
- Divisions: 100-player leaderboards based on your Ranked Seasons Solo rating.
- Matchmaking: Opponents are determined by your current Ranked rating and Weekend Classic division. You won’t only face players in your specific leaderboard.
- Locked Divisions: Your division is based on your highest Solo rating, and once WC starts, you’re locked in.
- Scaled Rewards: The better your division and the more games you win (especially early), the better the rewards. Going 6-0 right out the gate offers exceptional prize packs.

Weekend Classic Choice Pack Includes:
89 overall SS Carlos Correa (Houston Astros)

89 overall SP Corey Kluber (Cleveland Guardians)

April Spotlight Program
Say goodbye to the old Monthly Awards format—April Spotlight is the new go-to program for Topps Now content. The structure overall is familiar if not slightly fresh.
Final Reward:
- 88 OVR Jordan Westburg (3B primary, 2B/SS secondaries)
- A very balanced early-game utility card, strong both offensively and defensively.

Program Structure:
- 7 Moments worth 3 stars each
- 1 Extreme Moment worth 26 stars
These Moments alone can complete the program.
Mission Breakdown:
- 1,000 PXP with Spotlight/Topps Now = 10 stars
- 350 PXP with Kameron Misner = 5 stars
- 500 PXP with MacKenzie Gore = 5 stars
- 5 HR with 3B = 5 stars
- 50 TB with 2B = 5 stars
- 25 K with SP = 5 stars
- 15 XBH with Orioles = 5 stars
Stats accrue from all game-based modes.
Pack Access:
- Spotlight Drop 1 pack appears in the program AND in the Show Shop.
Collections:
- Collect all Spotlight Drop 1 cards = program completion.
- Collect each week's final Spotlight players to unlock this month's Lightning card.
- A Retro Lightning Collection also features the Spotlight pack cards.
The Last Ride Program
A brand program paying tribute to some of MLB’s most beloved legends making their exit.
Featured Cards:
- 87 OVR SP Mike Mussina (New York Yankees)

- 88 OVR 1B David Ortiz (Boston Red Sox)

Program Flow:
- Each legend has 3 Moments (15 stars each).
- Simple missions round out the program, making it a relatively quick grind.
Big Picture Tease:
- A major collection update is scheduled for April 25.
- SDS heavily implied finishing as many card series collections as possible, potentially involving voucher turn-ins for a massive Collection reward.
Other Key Updates
