June Spotlight Drop 1
The June Spotlight program kicks off with lowered grind requirements—a welcome change following feedback that past programs were too time-consuming. New missions featuring James Wood and Tarik Skubal, the ultimate rewards from the May Spotlight programs, will help players move much quicker through June Spotlight Program 1 content.
The featured cards in this week's drop are:
- Hunter Goodman, C, Colorado Rockies (93 OVR)

Spotlight Hunter Goodman is actually a very good Catcher. Starting off June with a bang, Goodman debuts as the #3 Catcher in Diamond Dynasty while also possessing eligibility at 1B, LF, and RF. He doesn't bring any Quirks to the field with him, but he's passable behind the plate and possesses 70 Speed which is incredible for a Catcher.
- Jac Caglianone, RF, Kansas City Royals (91 OVR)
- Colton Gordon, SP, Houston Astros (91 OVR)
Spotlight drops aren't much to write home about anymore, as it's the usual collection of Moments, PXP/Stat Missions, with optional collections rewarding those seeking the Retro Lightning player by requiring virtually no time grinding.
June Spotlight Pack 1

June Spotlight packs have increased odds of pulling the featured Spotlight cards. These cards are required for the Retro Lightning collection, so improved odds are certainly welcome.
The featured pack cards this week are:
- Drew Rasmussen, SP, Tampa Bay Rays (93 OVR)
- Vinnie Pasquantino, 1B, Kansas City Royals (93 OVR)
- Kyle Teel, C, Chicago White Sox (91 OVR)
- Tim Elko, 1B, Chicago White Sox (91 OVR)
- Ceddanne Rafaela, CF, Boston Red Sox (91 OVR)
We've seen some fun and interesting cards dropped in these Spotlight packs, but this week is more of a filler week. There's plenty of juicy cards elsewhere in today's drop, so grinding out the program to stay on pace for the next Lightning player is perhaps the core value here. In fact, I'd take Hunter Goodman from the free program over any of the cards in the pack.
This is a solid reminder that not every single content drop will be full of bangers. Getting a very interesting 93 overall Catcher for free from the program is great, but the packs are what they are at this point - sometimes interesting that simply feed the Retro Lightning Collection at the end of the month.
