New Diamond Quest Map

There's also a new Diamond Quest map available starting today. The epic reward tier features a couple of Hall of Famers in Tom Glavine and Alan Trammell.
Milestone Tom Glavine checks in as the #9 SP according to Meta Overall. Glavine was at one time a dominant SP in Diamond Dynasty, but sort of flies under the radar now. That isn't to say he's ineffective, but more a commentary on how the meta can change over time. He certainly has a meta pitch mix with this card, featuring a Sinker/Cutter/Slider trio offset with his trademark Circle Change and a Sweeping Curve. Known for pinpoint control, Glavine features 92+ Control on every pitch with 101 BB/9 which means he should dot consistently for you.
The mix is solid with a healthy mix of speed differentials as well. The elite velocity that often separates elite pitchers isn't present here, so finesse is required. But hey - that's exactly what Glavine was known for so it reflects well with this card. He was always getting a 99 overall, but it does create a bit of a pickle for Braves' theme teams as his Jolt card was the only available SP that could be enabled as a Captain. Interested parties will have to choose between a very usable 99 overall SP version, or the lower-rated SP that sat in the rotation strictly for Captain boosts.
Awards Alan Trammell also debuts as a top-10 Meta Overall card at shortstop. This card has all the makings of an "underwhelming" 99 overall, especially when there's other options at SS that can do pretty much everything better. I will speak in Trammell's defense by saying that I absolutely love his swing. I've used various versions of him over the years and he always rakes for me. It would be difficult for me to start him with the 107 Clutch and middling Power with the other options available, but I genuinely believe this is a sneaky good card that plays above the attributes.
File these two rewards away under the "good but not overwhelmingly sexy" category, and keep in mind that they're relatively easy to acquire and can be very helpful for the remaining collections you might be working on. Additionally, don't forget that there's another new Legends and Flashbacks collection coming. With content firmly in "99 overall prime" season, the next big collection will almost certainly need to be huge to upstage the last couple L&F collections that featured some insanely good cards. If you grind out this new Diamond Quest map and pocket these cards, you'll be in a better position to complete the new collection or even possibly sell these if they see a market uptick when the collection drops.
