The latest Chase Pack in MLB The Show 25 introduces a formidable addition: the 90 overall All-Star Rafael Devers. Known for his exceptional swing, Devers' new card boasts impressive attributes that make him a must-have for any lineup.
Shiver Me Devers
Devers shines at the plate which isn't surprising. Balanced Contact against both sides with elite Clutch at 100, making him an absolute nightmare with runners in scoring position. His 80 POW L is respectable, while he absolutely kills righties with 110 POW R.

These attributes, combined with his smooth swing, position Devers as a top-tier offensive threat, especially against right-handed pitchers for months to come.
Defensive Considerations
Of course, Rafael Devers isn't exactly known for his defensive prowess. With defense meaning more than ever in MLB The Show 25, there's serious consideration in sliding him to DH. Personally, I find Reaction to be the most important attribute for a 3B so Devers' 68 Reaction is plenty good enough.
Meta and True Overall Ratings
According to ShowZone, Devers' Meta Overall Rating stands at 88.53 and his True Overall Rating is 89.91
Incorporating the 90 OVR All-Star Rafael Devers into your squad can significantly boost your lineup's offensive capabilities. His exceptional batting attributes and reliable swing make him a valuable asset, despite relative defensive limitations.
Closing Thoughts
Seeing the Chase cards hit 90 overall already is interesting. We're only on the 3rd Chase card of the year, so it'll be curious to see what kind of creep the power levels actually take.
With SDS truly bringing the goods with content so far, a fair balance would see the Chase cards be a couple levels higher than the "accessible" meta. There will always need to be a tier for those willing to jump at new cards, and as long as the Chase cards are powerful enough to match the cost then all will be right in the virtual diamond world.
