MLB The Show 25: Chase Pack 22 Featuring Babe Ruth Available Now

Within the massive influx of content today, SDS also released Chase Pack 22.

The newest Chase card is none other than The Great Bambino - Babe Ruth.

This iteration of Ruth is slightly more interesting than most 99 overall versions of Ruth simply because it doesn't feature 125 everything. It's odd that a non-125, maxed out Ruth feels more interesting but it does. At least to me.

Let's not get too carried away: Milestone Ruth's Contact ratings of 118/116 against LHP/RHP aren't that far off from 125. But it's not 125.

Does it even matter? Probably not in the grand scheme, but I appreciate this version simply because it's different. Especially on a day when a bunch of Signature Series cards landed. SDS could have easily released the same 99 overall Signature Series Ruth we've seen that does feature 125 in every major offensive attribute. Same card series as the big content drop, throw it all together; no one cares. I appreciate that this is at least a different version of Ruth, and it highlights a more "human" aspect of his career with a 50-HR season highlighted.

Which, by the way - how absurdly good was Ruth's career that a 50-HR Milestone card touches on a more pedestrian accomplishment from his legendary career?

Either way, Ruth still debuts as a top-of-the-meta option at both eligible positions. Funnily enough, his offensive attributes are so strong that even with a secondary position penalty, he's the top option in LF while slightly behind Retro Finest Jose Bautista in RF.
