MLB The Show 25 Celebrates 2025 MLB Draft with Top 5 and On the Clock Packs

The 2025 MLB Draft begins Sunday night, bringing a ton of new draft pick cards into Diamond Dynasty. Two time-limited packs are in the Shop to get a jumpstart on the collection, featuring #4 overall pick Ethan Holliday of the Colorado Rockies. Holliday is the son of Rockies and MLB The Show legend Matt Holliday.

On the Clock Pack

The "lesser" of the new packs is the On the Clock Pack. This pack features select players that were drafted between #6 and #25. The players included are:

• Seth Hernandez (Pittsburgh Pirates)
• Aiva Arquette (Miami Marlins)
• Jojo Parker (Toronto Blue Jays)
• Billy Carlson (Chicago White Sox)
• Jamie Arnold (Parts Unknown Athletics)
• Gavin Fien (Texas Rangers)
• Marek Houston (Minnesota Twins)
• Kayson Cunningham (Arizona Diamondbacks)
• Andrew Fischer (Milwaukee Brewers)

All nine cards are 97 overall. The pack details are:

• Expires: 1 AM EST
• Price: 30,000 Stubs
• Details: Choose 1 of 9 total players in the pool.
• Limit: 3 packs per user

You straight up to get choose whatever card you want. That means you can buy the maximum number of packs and ensure you get who you want, as the "all encompassing" pack that will be released next will almost certainly be a tiered pack featuring all the Draft cards.

Top 5 Choice Pack

As the name implies, this pack features 4 of the top 5 picks in this year's draft. The excluded card is Ethan Holliday, the previously mentioned collection reward.

The pack consists of the following players and details:

• 99 overall Eli Willits (Washington Nationals)
• 98 overall Tyler Bremner (Los Angeles Angels)
• 98 overall Kade Anderson (Seattle Mariners)
• 98 overall Liam Doyle (St. Louis Cardinals)

• Expires: 11 PM EST
• Price: 75,000 Stubs
• Limit: 2 packs per user
• Details: Choose 1 of 4 included players.

Again, you choose the player you want from the selection. There's no tier here, so the relative value between the 99 and 98 overalls should be somewhat close while the packs are available.

With a limit of 2 packs per user, this pack again ensures you can grab the two highest priority players for yourself. If you max out on packs, you'll come away with 5 total Draft players from the time-limited packs.

Scouting Report

If I were a betting man, I'd say that young Eli Willits is going to quickly become a popular card in Diamond Dynasty. The #1 overall pick is a switch-hitting SS, with elite Contact and Clutch ratings and 80+ Power against both sides. He also comes with 85 Fielding that will go Diamond at Parallel 5, and 88 Speed and 90 Stealing is very good. That's good enough to land as the #2 SS according to True Overall.

The rest are all starting pitchers, with essentially the same attributes and pitch mixes. Liam Doyle's 4-Seamer is an Outlier which separates him from the others a bit, and he also gets a Cutter and Splitter. Otherwise, you'll be looking at handedness or teams for any significant different. With these being newly drafted layers, there's no established lore on swings or wind-ups to guide us. That lore begins tonight.

Collection

The upcoming collection for Ethan Holliday isn't fully online yet. There will be a program after the Draft concludes, and there will also be a third pack that features a huge selection of draft picks. The Top 5 and On the Clock packs will disappear from the store, at least in their current form, and this pack will take the place of them. There will also be a Conquest map that's repeatable that features the "all encompassing pack."

I'm sure we'll see the packs featured in programs, and we do see one in the collection. Overall, these packs are just the beginning for the full slate of draft content.
