Captain cards were introduced a couple of years ago, and so far in MLB The Show 25, we only saw Captain cards in each of the Team Affinity drops.
That's changed with the Captain Blizzard program. Drop 1 implies more missions and Captains to come over the next weeks and months, and it'll be fun to see the variety of Captains that get unleashed.

- 750 PXP with any Captain cards
- 10 Ks with pitchers who won WS MVP (Yamamoto, Whitey Ford, Gibson, Fingers, Randy Johnson, etc.)
- 3 HR with WS MVP hitters (Clemente, Jeter, Big Papi, Seager, Freeman, etc.)
- 3 SB with players who had 50+ SB seasons (Elly, Sandberg, Gwynn, Carroll, Ohtani, Acuña Jr.)
- 3 SB with Baltimore Orioles players

Each of these initial Captains require less players to reach Tier 3 than we've seen from the other Captains this year. That alone should make it easier to use these Captains, and perhaps shake up the meta a bit. With all the Finest cards hitting recently, we'll be seeing common players and teams. Anything that promotes lineup diversity will always be a huge win.
