The 7th Inning Program has come to MLB The Show 25! The MLB season is winding down fast, which means we're in the thick of 99 overall season in Diamond Dynasty.
Here's a look at the 7th Inning Program.
Cornerstone Evolution

At 7,500 XP, 22,500 XP, and 57,500 XP, you’ll pick up packs featuring:
- Willie Stargell - #25 1B Meta Overall
- Wade Boggs - #23 3B Meta Overall
- Brandon Webb - #14 SP Meta Overall
The programs are largely structured the same, meaning you'll be able to progress quickly to unlock the first 99 overall Cornerstone cards we've seen.
XP Path Reward - 99 Awards Rich Gossage

At 115,000 XP in the 7th Inning Program path, you'll earn a 99 overall Awards Rich Gossage.

Goose ranks as the #1 CP in Diamond Dynasty according to Meta Overall, which is outstanding for a free card. An Outlier 4-Seamer with a disgusting Slurve, Sinker, and Changeup mix can do that sort of thing. Taking advantage of the Double XP currently active will net you the best closer available in record time.
7th Inning Bosses
The Boss Choice Packs feature:
- Chase Headley - #2 1B, #3 3B Meta Overall
Headley is a well-rounded card that's elite at both corner infield positions. Exquisitely balanced offensive profile on a switch-hitter, with Diamond Fielding at 3B that stays Diamond at 1B once Headley reaches Parallel 2. Headley also features 75 Speed, which works massively in his favor as we hit the best cards we'll see all year. It gets dough discerning between 99 overall cards, so respectable Speed is always a huge plus.
- David Ortiz - #8 1B Meta Overall
Papi's Hall of Fame card looks as it should. Ortiz features 125 Clutch and absolutely kills RHP while still holding his own against LHP. We also see Dead Red and Breaking Ball Hitter on this card, two of the better offensive Quirks. This is an Ortiz card through and through, as he's absolutely terrible defensively and very slow but Ortiz made the Hall of Fame because of his elite hitting and that's featured on this iteraion.
- Steve Carlton - #3 SP Meta Overall
Carlton features top-tier H/9 and Pitching Clutch to go along with max 125 Stamina. The pitch mix might not be ubermeta, but does feature his trademark primary Slider that has 99 Control and 99 Break. His 4-Seamer will touch 100 while the Sinker sits in the mid-90's. A Curveball as the second breaking pitch isn't very exciting, though it features 92 Control and 99 Break. A Changeup rounds out the mix, with the speed differential between the Slider and 4-Seamer working solidly in Carlton's favor.
The first Boss Pack is earned at 155,000 XP in the 7th Inning Program and the final Boss Pack is earned at 265,000 XP.
The program closes with a Signature Series Choice Pack at 340,000 XP, before you hit wheel spin territory.

Closing Thoughts
An interesting trio of Bosses highlights the 7th Inning, as we also get our first taste of 99 overall Cornerstone Evolution cards. Headley, Papi, and Carlton are all very good cards even if none are "must play" cards. Even the Cornerstone cards, which are weaker 99 overalls, have fun upside and overall these cards are welcomed to the player pool. Not to mention, the free Goose Gossage gives everyone a chance to earn the best closer currently available.
