The 2nd Inning Program is officially live in MLB The Show 25, and it’s got more juice than a mid-'90s Bash Brothers highlight reel. Let’s break down everything you need to know to hit the XP grind hard.
2nd Inning Cornerstone Evolutions
This program introduces the second batch of Cornerstone Evolution cards, giving players a new way to build up some classic names in baseball:
Each player starts at 80 overall and evolves into Diamonds as you complete each respective program.
Choice Pack Rewards
Work your way through the program and you’ll unlock three Choice Packs at:
- 7,500 XP
- 70,000 XP
- 135,000 XP
Ozzie Smith Reward
At 205,000 XP, you’ll snag an 89 OVR 2nd Half Ozzie Smith, a slick-fielding shortstop that’s perfect for locking down the middle infield. Not a power bat, but his defense will make your opponent wish they never tried to bunt. And then you can probably get on easily with a Bunt of your own.
2nd Inning Bosses
This is where things heat up.
At 320,000 XP, the first Boss Choice Pack drops featuring three 90 OVR legends:
- Bob Gibson: Filthy fastball, attitude of a heel in a steel cage match.
- Josh Gibson: Power swing king. The plate is his kingdom.
- Ken Griffey Jr.: Sweet swing, sweet card, sweeter bat flips.
Earn a second Boss Choice Pack at 500,000 XP, giving you a shot at adding another heavy hitter to your lineup. As always, you can scoop the third from the marketplace to earn an XP head start in the 3rd Inning Program.
This is a great group of Bosses and continues the excellence that SDS has had in regards to content so far this year.
