If you like expensive cards, Chase Packs and switch-hitting Catchers – boy, do I have good news for you.
Chase Pack 5, previously featuring SP Paul Skenes, gets a refresh with today’s content update. Skenes isn’t leaving the Chase Pack, rather he’s getting a friend to keep him company.
Let’s look closer at both cards.
SP Pipeline Paul Skenes (Pittsburgh Pirates) – Meta Overall: 98.03; #8 SP

This Skenes hit packs a bit ago, but he’s still a top-10 SP in Diamond Dynasty. Of course he is, right?
The dude throws elite heat with an Outlier 4-Seamer, a disgusting Slider, Sinker, Vulcan Change and Slurve. Like many, I was a huge fan of the Spring Breakout Skenes that released earlier in the year and Skenes’ Draft card from last year. A crazy pitch mix, elite stuff and solid enough control makes Paul Skenes a winner and worthy of Chase Pack treatment.
This version even gets shiny, holographic art.
C Awards Adley Rutschman (Baltimore Orioles) – Meta Overall: 107.92; #1 C

Joining Skenes is Awards series Adley Rutschman. In a world full of surprises, seeing this card also tucked into the Chase Pack isn’t surprising at all.
Rutschman grabs the mantle as top-Catcher in Diamond Dynasty with sturdily solid offensive attributes and Diamond Fielding. There’s no 1B secondary here, so Adley is either catching for you or DH’ing and you should be perfectly happy with either. Our boy gets Dead Red which helps him crush Fastballs and Catcher Pop Time, which makes him elite at throwing out would-be basestealers.
In summation; dude’s a beast.
And it goes without saying that he fits on the switch-hitting theme team, which has gotten a ton of viable cards to add to it in recent drops.
