Another week, another Diamond Duos set. We get two more Charisma Series cards this week – SP Luis Severino (New York Yankees) and 3B Kris Bryant (Chicago Cubs).

Charisma Series Luis Severino
Luis Severino gets a rare 99 overall with this Charisma Series card. With a fairly basic pitch-mix, Severino doesn’t bring a ton of value to the meta as reflected by his 86.30 Meta Overall rating. He throws hard and has decent Control, but ultimately I don’t think this card will be that difficult to hit.
Severino has no Quirks but does boast a strong 109 H/9 and 99 BB/9. He’ll fit on a Yankees theme team but that’s about the only rotation he’ll stick in for now as he’s easily outclassed.
Charisma Series Kris Bryant
The real prize in this Diamond Duos release is Kris Bryant. A favorite in the Diamond Dynasty community, Bryant’s Charisma Series card is pretty stacked. Bryant absolutely mashes lefties with his 121/125 Con/Pow split and holds up just fine against righties with his 106/104 C/P split. He has fairly low Vision at 86 and his Clutch rating of 92 will significantly weaken his Contact skills in critical situations. However, Bryant’s sweet swing and tasty Power combined with his defensive utility and decent Speed make him a solid addition to just about any squad.
Bryant is the 16th best card amongst all his positions according to Meta Overall, excluding current Supercharged players. Breaking it down even further, Bryant ranks in as the 9th best 1B, 5th best 3B, 5th best SS, 6th best LF, 5th best CF and 6th best RF according to Meta Overall.
Suffice to say, Bryant is balanced card with a sweet swing and enough positional versatility to slot into your squad at several key positions.
