The Color Storm Team Affinity program marks a vibrant new chapter in MLB The Show 25. The next wave of Team Affinity cards has a direct connection to the year-long My Journey program that launched with the game. Players can earn progress in both programs simultaneously, adding a double-dose of dopamine when grinding.
Color Storm essentially reestablishes the baseline of the meta power level, as the new TA cards are 91 or 92 overall. It appears this was an intentional design choice, which should help new and returning players quickly baseline their team to a "competitive" level.
What's In Color Storm?
- Dual Progression: Completing Color Storm missions earns points in both Color Storm and My Journey TA.
- Team-Based Tasks: Each team includes six light tasks and a 10,000-point Moment to kickstart progression.
- Captain Focused: Every Color Storm card comes with Captain abilities—targeting cards 95 OVR and under.
- Power vs. Symmetry: This program breaks the mirror. Teams with a Captain pitcher in My Journey don’t necessarily get a hitter in Color Storm—and vice versa.
- Balance Tweaks: Teams with two Captains receive scaled boosts to maintain balance across all squads.
- Attribute-Driven Boosts: Each Captain's ability appears to reflect their own attribute profile.
Collection Goals & Rewards
- Collect 15 Color Storm cards to earn a voucher toward the upcoming Legends & Flashbacks Collection (dropping June 13).
- Each card also has a PXP mission that grants 150,000 My Journey TA points. This is an astronomical amount that should help everyone ensure they can unlock the All-Star Game cards when they release.
- Alternate uniforms are featured across the board, contributing to the Alternate Uniforms collection for the first time in this cycle. This uniform collection had been oddly untouched all year, so we'll finally be able to earn some more free packs and Stubs.
